A fall morning at Avila Beach

A pink and orange sky spreads over the town and pier of Avila Beach while the tide flows around the rocks on a fall morning. The clouds lit up from one end of the sky to the other. Low tide uncovers the rocks and tide pools at the edge of the beach, the best foreground Avila has.

To be set up for this one, I crossed the cold creek in the dark and climbed out onto slippery rocks with all my camera gear. When the sky lit up pink over town, every wet step was worth it.
